With a production run of only 500 models, the Ducati original 1199 Superleggera is a one of the most exclusive (and expensive) superbikes in the world. At the time of its release it was the world's most powerful production twin ever produced. Extensive use of titanium, magnesium and carbon fiber also made it the lightest superbike ever. Tipping the scales at just 341.7 pounds dry it also laid claim to the highest power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios of any production motorcycle.
The artist of this work, Dennis Matson (AKA AntiHero), traveled nearly twice the circumference of the Earth on an 1199, documenting his travels through 25+ countries, 119 states and provinces, and over 600 cities. No one has spent more time or ridden greater distances on an 1199 than he has and his passion is evident in his artistic style. His bold adventures, incredible photographs and the literary-quality of his writings elevated him to legendary status within the motorcycle community and eventually caught the eye of Ducati's CEO, who personally invited him to test ride a Panigale R at COTA with Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies. (A video Ducati produced of him can be found on Ducati's YouTube channel.)
Prints of the original Acrylic-on-Canvas painting are available as banners, on canvas or on premier heavyweight paper.
Each hand-signed Giclee print is individually printed by the artist on Epson Canvas utilizing professional imaging technologies and methods. The meticulous reproduction process and the use of archival pigments and museum-quality canvas (estimated to last 400+ years) produces a stunning print frequently mistaken for an original.
Signed poster prints are printed on Kodak Professional Endura Premier paper for exceptionally sharp and precise colors, bold, rich blacks and clean, crisp whites. Poster prints will last 100 years in a typical home display and 200 years in dark storage.
Flexible vinyl banners are fade-resistant, tear-resistant and are built to withstand variable weather conditions (which should make them perfect for any garage). Additional processing time may apply.
Shipping and Handling:
Artwork will arrive rolled in a durable shipping cylinder or shipped flat depending on size. Most prints are ready to ship, but larger sizes may require additional processing time.
